Are you an artist looking for your creative home?  You’ll find it at Renaissance High School for the Arts, the best kept little secret in Long Beach!  At Renaissance we allow you to express yourself in the present, help you acquire new skills for your future, and give you nourishing roots in the artistic past.  An equal emphasis on formal technique and personal expression will prepare you to succeed in college and in the real world.  At Renaissance, you will have many opportunities to grow in a small arts-focused community that is rigorous and challenging, but also accepting and diverse.

 

What Renaissance offers:

  • Brand new state-of-the-art facilities coming in 2018
  • A very cohesive ecosystem where students can experience & take both Visual Arts and Performing Arts classes (unlike any other school in LBUSD)
  • An artistic small learning community with approximately 500 students
  • Safe environment, no physical altercations at Renaissance
  • Rigorous, academic program with open access to a variety of honors and Advanced Placement courses
  • Students experience a self-selected pathway in the visual or performing arts where they will develop and hone skills in a specific artistic discipline
  • Pathways include: Visual Arts (Studio Art, Digital Art or Costume Design focus) and Performing Arts (Drama, Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music or Technical Theater focus)
  • Students work with industry experienced coaches, mentors & choreographers
  • Immediate opportunities for freshmen to get involved in visual, performing, technical and writing arts classes and school events
  • Strong support from the arts community featuring master classes and arts related field trips

Current 8th Graders:

Applicants are able to apply online via the ParentVUE system within the LBUSD timeline.

Current 9th-11th Graders:

All applications are handled via the High School Office.  All applicants in the LBUSD system must apply online through the ParentVue account.  All applicants outside of LBUSD must apply directly through our High School Office.
