Future Freshmen

Are you a serious artist looking for your creative home?  You’ll find it at Renaissance High School for the Arts, the best-kept little secret in Long Beach!  At Renaissance we allow you to express yourself in the present, help you acquire new skills for your future, and give you nourishing roots in the artistic past.  An equal emphasis on formal technique and personal expression will prepare you to succeed in college and in the real world.  At Renaissance, you will have many opportunities to grow in a fully immersive arts-focused community that is rigorous and challenging, but also supportive and creatively inspiring.

Each 9th grader will select a specific Pathway (Fashion/Costume Design, Film, Performing Arts, or Visual Arts) that will end with a Capstone Course.

  • Students experience a self-selected technical core pathway where they will develop and hone skills in a specific artistic discipline preparing them for college and career

  • Students work with industry-experienced coaches, mentors & choreographers

  • Immediate opportunities for freshmen to get involved in visual, performing, technical, and writing arts classes and school events

  • Opportunities for student leadership in ASB, yearbook, and Principal's Advisory

  • Strong support from the arts community featuring master classes and arts-related field trips

Current 8th Graders:

Applicants are able to apply online via the ParentVUE system within the LBUSD timeline.

Current 9th-11th Graders:

All applications are handled via the High School Office.  All applicants in the LBUSD system must apply online through the ParentVue account.  All applicants outside of LBUSD must apply directly through our High School Office.
